Syllabus for Food Supplies Inspector in Punjab; Get all the info now!

Dear Job seekers,
All those who have applied to the direct recruitment notice of 461 INSPECTORS (Group B) (in the Pay Band Rs. 10300 - Rs. 34800 with Grade pay of Rs. 4200 and Initial Pay of Rs. 16290) in the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Punjab can refer to the in-detail syllabus for examination for better preparation.

Hopefully, all the applicants have:

  • Submitted the necessitated application processing fee.
  • Have rightfully submitted the application processing fee only in State Bank of India wither through Challan form or online banking.
  • Have mentioned all clear and true information in the form.
  • Only the candidates who are no barred by any government department or board or commission have applied only.
  • Successfully fulfill all of the eligibility condition as stated in the recruitment notice.
In case, any applicant fails to do any of above mentioned points, the application would be rejected and he or she will not receive admit card. Moreover, the deposited application processing fee is non-refundable.


Selection Procedure:
Selection will be based on written examination only. There will be no interview. The merit will be prepared on the basis of result of written examination. The question paper will be provided both in English and Punjabi. It will have 150 questions each carrying one mark as per the details given below:

a.      Language Proficiency
1.      Hindi                                        13 Questions
2.      English                                     12 Questions
b.      General Knowledge                            25 Questions
c.       Mental Ability & Reasoning                50 Questions
d.      Mathematical Skills                            25 Questions
with Matric as the difficult level
e.      Computer Proficiency                         25 Questions

Some Points to be kept in mind:
  • Any wrong answer would invite negative marking. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
  • The total duration of the exam would be 2 ½ hours or 150 minutes.
  • The applicant must score atleast 35% of the marks for clearing the written examination.
  • The merit list prepared on the basis of this written test will remain valid for six months from the day the result is declared.
Moreover, there would be no travelling allowance provided to the applicants, Furthermore, only the Successful candidates in the written examination shall produce their original Certificates/testimonials in person as and when required by the Commissioner, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Punjab.
SYLLABUS
Computer Proficient Test, CPT => 25 Questions
The basic purpose is to check the applicants’ basic computing concept and his/her ability to perform fundamental operating system functions.

Language Proficiency => 13 + 12 = 25 Questions
The candidate needs to the proficient in both Hindi and English. It may involve general grammar applications, vocabulary test, workmanship skills with words and sentences. It may also include precise writing or article or essay writing.

Mental Ability & Reasoning => 50 Questions
The sole purpose of this section of examination is to check the levels of analytical thinking for the candidate. It checks each applicants’, so called human intelligence. It may include Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. Creative thinking, unfamiliar relationships, verbal reasoning, finding patterns trends and Assessment of figures & diagrams. 

General Knowledge => 25 Questions
Knowledge of current affairs and other issues related to trade, industry, economy, sports, culture and science. 

Mathematical Skills => 25 Questions
Numerical calculation, arithmetic, simple algebra, geometry and trigonometry, Interpretation of graphs, charts and tables.

  3. SEVERAL WRIT PETITIONS AGAINST THE DEPARTMENT LAYING PENDING IN HONORABLE PUNJAB & HARYANA HIGH COURT, CHANDIGARH FOR 2010 1289 FOOD INSPECTORS RECRUITMENT. FIRSTLY DEPARTMENT SHOULD RESOLVE THESE WRIT PETITIONS.
